§ 20-20. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Commercial or industrial user means any person acting for or on behalf of a householder other than himself for profit or gain or on account of some obligation to another of whatever kind or nature.

    Franchise collector means a person, firm or corporation authorized by contract or franchise from the county to collect garbage on a commercial basis as permitted by the laws of the state.

    Greenboxes means the green or other color boxes for solid waste which are provided by the county, either directly, or by contract or franchise.

    Householder means an individual or single-family occupying a structure used as a dwelling.

    Landfill means a county-owned and operated landfill approved for use in disposing of solid waste and open to public patronage by a commercial, industrial or other user responsible for the disposition of solid waste generated by one or more householders, or by work, manufacturing, business, or operations done within the county by commercial, industrial or other users.
